ALICE 2026 - CAST RESOURCES
Our 12th Annual Production of Alice will be performed at Bedford Middle School on the weekend of May 16th & May 17th!
All dancers enrolled in our program and who are in Grade 1 or above are eligible for the show. And all dancers who audition will be part of the show! Note that particularly for our younger dancers, the auditions are merely a formality — all dancers will be cast right along with their age group.
Alice Auditions
Friday, 1/9:
Grades 7 & 8: 6:30 - 7:30pm (*dancers must arrive 30 minutes before audition to warm-up)
Grades 10 & Up: 7:30 - 9:00pm (*dancers must arrive 30 minutes before audition to warm-up)
Saturday, 1/10:
Grades 1 & 2: 10:00 - 10:45am (*mandatory meeting for 1st grade parents AND any parents who are new to Alice)
Grades 3 & 4: 11:00 - 11:45am
Grades 5 & 6: 12:00 - 1:00pm
Alice Call Back (by invitation only): 1:30 - 2:30pm (*dancers must arrive 30 minutes before audition to warm-up)
Grade 9: 2:30 - 3:30pm (*dancers must arrive 30 minutes before audition to warm-up)
PARTICIPATION FEE
There is a $495 participation fee per dancer
For families with more than one dancer participating in the show, there will be a sibling discount - each family's additional dancer's participation fee will be $455.
Please note: the sibling discount will not be reflected in the portal upon registration. We will manually override it in our system to adjust for sibling discounts. If you are paying by check, please remit $495 for the first dancer and $455 for each additional dancer in the family.
The online sign-up must be completed by 6:00pm on Friday 1/9 for your dancer to be cast in the show
Payment must be received by your dancer's audition day
Your dancer can bring a check (written out to Westport’s Academy of Dance) to the audition or your credit card on file will be charged at the end of the audition day. Please put your check in a sealed envelope with your dancer's full name and grade on the outside of the envelope
If paying by check: siblings must bring separate envelopes with separate forms of payment, each labeled with name and grade
Credit card transactions will be subject to the 3.5% processing fee
Registration Details for Parents with Dancers in Grade 1 or Parents with a Dancer New to the Production:
In order to sign your dancer up, please complete the following three steps:
1. Sign your dancer up for Alice Participation Online
This online sign-up must be completed by 6:00pm on Friday 1/9 for your dancer to be cast in the show
2. Attend the mandatory parent meeting on Saturday, January 10th
One Parent from each family must attend the 10:00am meeting on Saturday, January 10th
There is a lot of important information regarding the production and volunteer commitment from the parents that will be explained, so again, it is mandatory that any new parent or parent of a dancer in Grade 1 attend.
3. After the parent meeting, complete the Online Parent Survey
Registration Details For all Parents with Returning Dancers in Grade 2 and Above who are NOT new to the production:
There are two steps necessary in order to sign your dancer up, both need to be completed by Friday, January 9th at 6:00pm:
1. Sign your dancer up for Alice Participation Online
This online sign-up must be completed by 6:00pm on Friday 1/9 for your dancer to be cast in the show
2. Please complete the Online Parent Survey
Please read all carefully as there are changes from previous years
REHEARSAL INFORMATION
Rehearsals for the show will take place on weekends during the following time slots:
• Grades 1 & 2: Saturdays between 11:00am - 5:00pm
• Grades 3 and up: Saturdays between 11:00am - 5:00pm & Sundays between 12:30pm - 5:30pm
Note: these times are only windows of times we ask that parents leave open for rehearsals - dancers will not be called for five hours! Rehearsals are announced each Tuesday evening for the upcoming weekend, and your dancer might be called for one hour one week, not called the next, etc. We will also do our best to work around conflicts such as soccer, etc. The times that dancers are called for any dress rehearsals or tech rehearsal (May 9th and beyond) may be outside of the windows listed above.
*Rehearsal schedule will be posted each week on Tuesday evening on this resources page and at the office window at the studio.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Mandatory costume fittings will take place January 31st & February 1st during the same blocks of rehearsal times as listed above.
In-Studio Dress Rehearsal - Full Cast - Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd (specific times TBD)
Tech rehearsal on Saturday, May 9th - Bedford Middle School (specific times TBD)
Mandatory Dress Rehearsals on Thursday, May 14th & Friday, May 15th - Bedford Middle School
Performance Weekend is Saturday, May 16th & Sunday, May 17th - Bedford Middle School
