Autumn 2025 Guest Choreographer Showing
The culmination of a 9 -week Master Class at The Academy where Jr. II, Jr. Company & Sr. Company students will perform 3 original works choreographed by the extraordinary Amelia Lowe.
Amelia will be choreographing Contemporary pieces for our dancers. Her choreography focuses mainly on storytelling, musicality, and technique. The goal of her work is to use the dancers' unique movement qualities to allow their strengths to shine. Each piece of choreography is uniquely fitted to the dancers performing it. She hopes to blend artistry with physicality to create something truly one of a kind.
We invite you to join us for this intimate performance, where our students' dedication and hard work will shine on stage alongside the artistry of our cherished guest choreographer. The performances promise to be a remarkable showcase of talent and creativity.
Performance Schedule:
Saturday, 11/15: 3:00pm
Sunday, 11/16: 1:00pm & 2:30pm
(Approximate runtime of each performance is 25 minutes.  Additional performance days/times may be added.)
ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHER
Amelia Lowe is most famously known for her time on So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 as a member of their top 20. In addition to this she made it into the top 12, allowing her the opportunity to perform across the country with the So You Think You Can Dance Tour.
Since her time on the show, Amelia has appeared as a principal dancer in episodes of Boardwalk Empire and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She's also been featured in multiple commercials including a nationwide commercial for Wendy's, Target, the New York Stock Exchange, General Electric and American Express.
Amelia got the chance to be a featured dancer at the premiere for The Great Gatsby. She has performed for emerging choreographer, Lindsay Nelko at the Capezio Ace Awards and Warren Carlysle at the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards.
Amelia is currently living in New York while teaching in the tristate area as well as for dance conventions across the country.
This Guest Choreographer Showing is part of our Master Class and Student Performance series offered to Academy students and families involving various talent from the broader dance and performing arts community. This ongoing series will take place in THE BLACK BOX THEATER within our facility.
